Create albums and organize photos

Sort photos into albums, such as "Example: October dinner". Each photo is in only one album.

5 steps · about 1 min

Steps

  1. Tap "Create Album" on the album screen, or tap the + at the top right and choose "Create Album".

  2. Enter an album name (1–30 characters). The cover is optional (the newest photo is used by default). The album opens once it's created.

  3. Tap the + at the top right of the album to choose photos from your phone, or pick photos from this chat.

  4. Tap "Select", check the photos, then choose "Move to Album", "Save to Phone", or "Delete" to organize many at once.

  5. Tap the ⋯ at the top right to rename the album, change the cover, or delete the album.

  • All members of the chat can see these albums, and anyone can create, rename, change the cover of, or delete an album. Picking photos from this chat and moving photos between albums doesn't use extra storage.
  • Deleting an album deletes the photos in it too. No member can see them anymore, and they can't be recovered. Photos uploaded by someone who has blocked you aren't deleted; they go back to "Unsorted". To keep the photos, move them to another album or back to Unsorted before deleting the album.
  • In a frozen chat, albums are view-only: you can't create, rename, or delete them.
